Live promotions & loyalty programs

Taking established promotional and offer-driven platforms to mobile. Bellr was a cashless marketplace, designed to help merchants engage with a growing millennial audience by selling their products and services on-demand.
Bellr participated in multiple interstate accelerators, raised venture capital and was acquired in late 2019.

SNAPSHOT

PROBLEM

Mitchell, my cofounder & I envisioned a world whereby owners of brick & mortar businesses didn’t all have to spend tens of thousands of dollars building and managing their own sub-par mobile apps to complete with delivery applications (UberEats, Deliveroo etc.). Instead, we'd build Bellr to handle everything for them; payments, promotion and loyalty.

SOLUTION

Promotions were ephemeral, numbered and exclusive. It was first-in-first-served. You had to be 1 of the lucky ‘X’ amount of people if you were going to buy the deal. Thus, encouraging merchants to offer exclusive offers, and an increased incentive for users to make impulsive decisions. We also offered private loyalty programs for corporates, unlocking value for staff around the state with discounts on gym memberships, movie nights and tonnes of food & beverage options.

OUTCOME

It was a wild couple of years to say the least. During my time, I lead all elements of the design process from the inception of the concept until sale. Hired the product org, and worked daily with designers, product managers, engineers and relevant stakeholders to produce the best products for our customers. Ultimately, the venture ran its course, we couldn't find product-market fit and didn't want to raise more money on speculation and sold the assets of the business back to our first investor.
